Ready For Arcade Action?

Silent Winter

After a long and silent winter from Dave and myself, I would like to use this post as a news report and a roadmap for things to come in the Action Arcade Wrestling Omni verse (pun intended). Let me start by saying we have been hard at work on the next AAW release. I think we only took a couple weeks off after AAW2 but more on that and why later, but we have not made much, if anything, public so this post will be the beginning of regular updates, progress reports and anything else we can think of.

We’re now tremendously excited to formally announce that Dave and I will be co-releasing the next version in the AAW series: Action Arcade Wrestling 2 Turbo.

BombPong: In-Space 3D UI

Creating a unique UI approach for a new user experiance

BombPong: In-Space 3D UI

When we, my artist and I, started on the UI it was nothing more than a 2D old school buttons, labels with a space background. This was pretty good at the time due to adding some cool flash texture animations when selecting a button. I have a screenshot below of the first prototype we did.

Dynamic Multi-Layer Texturing in Action Arcade Wrestling 2
A little over a year ago I was contracted by Dave Horn, the creator of the Action Arcade Wrestling series, to help transfer the game to the awesome SunBurn Engine and implement a few things like the UI and Save/Load functionality just to name a few.

In the beginning there was darkness... But then... BANG!

Where it all began.

In the beginning there was darkness... But then... BANG!
It was approximately 2 months ago when I got the idea for a new game, a game where I put my own twist on a classic favorite, Pong. You’re probably thinking: “Pong?! You’re crazy right? How can that be made awesome?” How about adding bombs instead of a ball, making it 2.5D and putting it in space?
